Bianca Bedigian (she/her) originally hails from Chicago, Illinois. Seeking warmer weather, she moved to California to attend school at Santa Clara University where she received her Bachelor in Science degrees in Political Science and Sociology. She moved to South San Francisco to attend law school at the University of San Francisco where she received her Juris Doctor degree with an emphasis in Public Interest Law. After graduation, she worked as an attorney representing children ages 0-21 in the foster care system. Through this experience, she gained insight into issues many families in the Bay Area face including housing instability, a need for mental health support, interactions with the criminal justice system, and poverty. Understanding the importance of assisting this often overlooked population have a voice, she was excited to use her background to apply and be appointed to the Commission on Equity and Public Safety. Her goal as a Commissioner is to support residents in a safe space to make their concerns known and to work collaboratively to ensure that SSF makes services and opportunities available to all. In her free time, Bianca loves attending street festivals with her family and cheering for the Chicago Cubs.
