BPAC's primary roles and responsibilities are to:

- Help create multimodal transportation options that enable safe access for people of all ages and abilities. 

- Support implementation of the 2022 Active South City Bicycle & Pedestrian Plan and Vision Zero Policy.

- Participate in the development and review of active transportation plans, policies, and regulations.

- Recommend bicycle and pedestrian transportation projects for grant opportunities. 

- Promote the usage of active transportation.

- Promote bicycle and pedestrian safety and awareness through education and outreach.
